Holistic physical therapy
In this form of physiotherapy, we look beyond the symptoms to the whole picture. Your complaints may have various causes, and I take these into account in your recovery process. I consider your overall well-being and its impact on your body. Where the pain manifests is often not the cause. Everything in the body works together. If the cooperation is not optimal, it can manifest itself physically, mentally, and/or emotionally. The body is connected by connective tissue and works in chains. If there is dysfunction somewhere in the chain (trigger point, adhesion, scar, weak link), it may manifest itself higher or lower in the body. For example: a limitation in rotating the upper back can cause shoulder pain; foot problems can result in hip pain; a scar on the abdomen can cause low back pain; and incorrect breathing patterns can cause headaches. It's a complex puzzle, but I'm here to help unravel it and find a lasting solution so that the complaints do not return. By applying various treatment techniques, we can achieve a sustainable solution. The treatment methods I use are based on osteopathy with fascial techniques, dry needling, manual therapy, mobilization techniques, cupping, and exercise therapy.
Abdominal & Organ Fascia Release
The abdominal fascia surrounds our organs, organs that maintain our homeostasis day and night. They all work together to keep our internal environment balanced so that our body functions optimally. These organs are surrounded by connective tissue, muscles, and the skin.
Adhesions in the connective tissue can occur due to factors such as posture, excessive core training, nutrition, viral conditions, obesity, surgeries, or radiation in the abdominal region. This can lead to reduced organ function and pain complaints elsewhere in the body, such as back pain, shoulder pain, or hip pain. It can also lead to issues such as a bloated abdomen, gastrointestinal complaints, or disrupted lymph and blood circulation. Additionally, traumas and emotions are often stored in this area.
Treating the abdomen improves organ function, reduces complaints elsewhere in the body, promotes better posture, and brings space, flow, and relaxation to the entire body.
During a treatment, various structures are released, such as connective tissue, diaphragm, heart, lungs, liver, stomach, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys, bladder, reproductive organs, plexus, psoas muscle, and the lymphatic system and blood circulation are balanced.
Trauma Release Therapy
Temporarily unavailable for booking due to pregnancy. Referral of colleague possible.
Body Remembers Trauma Therapy (BRTT®) and Trauma Breathwork Release (TBR®) assist in releasing stress and trauma through bodywork. Tension and stress manifest not only psychologically but also physically. Often, we hold tension in our bodies, which can lead to physical and mental complaints.
BRTT® teaches us to naturally release tension and return our bodies to a state of calm and balance. It provides healthy self-regulation, which can be independently applied after a short learning period to improve and maintain our health.
The session proceeds as follows: We start with breathing exercises to relax and connect with your body. Then, we engage in physical exercises to activate the psoas muscle. This muscle often stores tension, emotions, and traumas. By activating the psoas, you access vibrations in your body, allowing the body to release tension where necessary. Your body knows exactly what it needs, and you will never receive more than you can handle.
This session lasts approximately 1.5 hours. The session can be extended with Trauma Release Breathwork (TRE®) to delve deeper into the process and release tensions. The combined session lasts a total of 2.5 to 3 hours.
Before the session, a questionnaire is reviewed to determine if this therapy is suitable for you. This therapy is available by appointment only. If you have any questions or would like to book this session, please let me know via WhatsApp or email.
Breathwork
Trauma release breath work cannot be booked temporarily due to pregnancy. Learning breathing techniques is!
Discover the power of breath. Breath therapy supports achieving more relaxation, creating a healthier and more conscious life, personal growth, healing, transformation, and spiritual development. Breathwork assists in releasing emotional blockages, discharging the nervous system, and letting go of pain. Through various breath techniques accompanied by music, we establish a deeper connection with your body and soul.
The session lasts 1-1.5 hours and can be scheduled after a non-binding intake conversation.
Transformational Cupping
This therapy focuses on reducing tension in the connective tissue, where stress, traumas, and blockages are often held. This tension can cause physical complaints such as muscle spasms, breathing problems, poor posture, gastrointestinal issues, and inflammations. With cupping, we treat the body's meridian system, the points where energy flows. Adhesions and toxins can accumulate at these points, causing a disruption in the system. The treatment restores energy flow and addresses adhesions, toxins, and blockages. This can result in discoloration of the skin, where the intensity of the color indicates the degree of stagnation.

Loes, (BRTT & TRB)
Thank you for the incredibly enjoyable session you gave us; we have released a lot and are still enjoying the effects. Your guidance was very pleasant, gentle, and empathetic! And the music you used was perfect too."

"Annemiek is a physiotherapist whom I wholeheartedly recommend. Not only does she excel in her profession, but she also has insight (and knowledge) into other important aspects such as nutrition, mental well-being, and their influence on your physical condition. The combination of these diverse elements ensures that I experience very positive results from Annemiek's treatments. I find her to be a physiotherapist with a significant advantage."
